Ramadan-the holy month of fasting begins today. Anyone living in or visiting Mumbai (during the next 30 days) can enjoy some of the most delicious non vegetarian fare from stalls at Mohammed Ali Road.

Unfortunately, Mohammed Ali Road erupts with activity only during the fasting month (Ramadan), which this year falls from 2nd September to 2nd October. Nevertheless, looking forward to your visit here. There're a whole lot of other places we could go to.

Thanks! I'm glad you like it. I tried to shoot a video there but it was just too crowded for me to be able to keep the camera steady. However, we clicked a lot of stills. The pictures are so 'Md. Ali Road'...I wanted to, in some way, depict the atmosphere of that place, hence the slide show, edited to Nusrat Saab's music. There's always 'qawwali' cds playing on the street and I found this song apt for the edit. Yes, the slides don't last very long...actually, I wanted to keep the duration as less. Also, pictures change as per the beat.

I learnt a lot while editing this. It was the first time I used a lot of transitions. Also, during the process I ended up listening to the "Allahu" track a few 100 times and realised that the late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Saab's voice is DIVINE. Javed Akhtar (the most successful and acclaimed lyricist and screenwriter of Bollywood), while working with the great Pakistani singer on the "Afreen" album had said, "Nusrat saab ki awaaz sun ke aisa lagta hai jaise ki rooh dhul gayi" (Nusrat saab's voice cleanses the soul). How true!
