Selecting, Storing and Using Oranges video

Video Description

Oranges are so versatile, you can peel, squeeze, juice or slice them and best of all the average orange provides twice the recommended daily allowance of Vitamin C. Select oranges that are firm and heavy for their size. The skin should be smooth and show no traces of soft, black spots or mould. Oranges can be stored at room temperature for about a week. Or for a longer storage life, keep them in the refrigerator. The juice and zest can also be frozen and used as flavouring at a later date. Oranges can be used in a wide variety of ways. They can be eaten out of hand, used in cooking, added to salads, sorbets, crepes and sauces or squeezed and used as a refreshing drink.
