I don't necessarily think this was too long like a couple others said, but with the ambient noise from the market, the background music that was added was too much for me to hear anything that was said except by you and sometimes the gentleman standing right next to you. I don't think it would matter though. I'm partial to the Hawaiian mango! There's nothing like walking out your back door, waving to your Auntie or cousin across the shrubs, and picking a mango off your tree. I don't live in Hawaii any more, but I gotta be true to my roots, no? I've looked for that flavor ever since, and I just can't find it imported from anywhere! All kidding aside, has there been a comparison done between Indian and Hawaiian mangoes? I've never found either in my grocery stores, mostly Ecuador or Mexico.

The cost in the US of Indian mangoes is quite high due to iradiation, shipping costs, and greed knowing the limited supply. As o beef and mango and pork and mango typical Vietnamese combination for salady type rolls using rice paper. Quite a marvelous taste combination. Also such as Green Mango Salad with Grilled Beef (Goi Xoai Voi Bo) a pipulr Vietnamese dish. Also a popular new Cantonese dish is Beef With Mango, and also Chibese mango/beef deep fried rolls using an egg roll wrapper which is very popular locally at Tien's Tea House. Beef With Mango a Chinese Stir fry dish is also yummy, or Beef and Mango Fajitas from Wallmart (seriously funny to me but real)or how how about Beef And Mango Kebabs. I feel a blogg coming on---the complimentary taste of mangoes and beef, also mangoes and pork.

Mango is truly the king of fruits. My favourite is the "Maalda" variety. It's not as fancy n expensive as the Alphonso but I'm hooked to the "Maalda" smell n taste...People from Bihar would agree.

Indian mangoes are wonderful green or ripe, but he fragrance and lovely flavour develops with the just ripe Indian mangoes. I make a pork and mango wrap using Tamaruos tortilla-too bad the Indian spice/masala ones aren't avilable as this would be awesome. In fact chicken, beef or pork, with a just ripe mango, some curd/yoghurt curry dressing and some greens like daikon sprouts or cilantro. I am going to my South Indian market today I will check if she will sell the mangoes each not a case. In India they make amazing mango chutney that is heavenly hot-sweet-spicey YUMMMMM

My head is already spinning. India has about 1500 varieties of mangos, including 1000 commercial ones. I feel like we are entering the surrealism of Mango Idol. Make that irradiated Mango Idol. It’s true. America wants the mango but not the mango weevil so the fruits are irradiated. The Tortilla Guy

Indin mangoes are so fragrant and simply amazing. First they don't hav those icky fibers running through them. Many Indian markets are selling them by the case at around $35. Mangoes in Thailand are also wonderful. Thy are growing the Manilla, Alphonso and Champagne varieties in Mexico - watch for them as they are not so pricey and quite nice i.e. no iberous texture.
