BTW Primitivo is thought to be related to the California Zinfndel grape. Actually it is thought that Platic Mali from Croatia went to Italy and then to California.
DNA testing shows for sure that the Platitc Mali is the grandfather of Zinfandel. Studies have been done at the S' finest Viticulture and Enology school just up the road here in at the University of California Davis.
