Ginny I grow over 100 different varities of Heirloom tomatoes each year and have for many years. The history of each and every heirloom is amazing. Some like Sophie's Choice were smuggled out of Eastern Europe years ago under a postage stamp! I do judging at tomato growing/tasting contests, have a large International Tomato group called TomatoMania, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TomatoMania/ help with the annual Charity event of Gary Ibsen's the Carmel Tomato Fest, which is the premier Tomato Event in the world! Jeepers, think I have said that don't ever ever put tomatoes in the refrigerator-why? It breaks down the nature sugars and there goes the flavour!
