Ingredients

 2/3 cup tarragon vinegar
 Salad oil1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Garlic1 Clove (5gm), minced
 Sugar1 Tablespoon
 Salt1 1/2 Teaspoon
 Ground pepper1 Dash
 Water2 Tablespoon
 Dash bottled hot pepper sauce
 1 medium onion, sliced and separated in rings
 2 6-ounce cans broiled mushroom crowns, drained, or 2 pints fresh mushrooms, washed and trimmed

Directions

Combine first 8 ingredients.
Add onions and mushrooms.
Cover and refrigerate mixture for at least 8 hours, stirring several times.
Drain and serve as an appetizer.
