Ingredients

 Beef round roast2 Pound
 All-Purpose Flour- 1/4 cup
 Vegetable oil2 Tablespoon
 Water1/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 Dry red wine1 Cup (16 tbs)
 All-Purpose Flour- 1/4 cup mixed to a paste, in 1/4 cup cold water
 Salt1 Teaspoon
 Bay leaves1
 Whole black peppercorns1 Dozen
 Lemon1 , sliced

Directions

GETTING READY
1) Sprinkle beef with flour.
2) In a large non-stick pan heat the oil and brown the beef on all sides. 3) Take the beef out and cut into thick slices.
4) Put the beef slices in slow cooker.
5) Pour off the excess fat from the pan.

MAKING
6) In the same pan, pour water.
7) Bring the water to a boil, stirring continuously to scrape off the bits.
8) Stir in the wine, flour mixture and salt.
9) Bring to boil, stirring continuously until thickened.
10) Spoon the flour mixture over the meat along with bay leaf and peppercorn.
11) Put the lid on and simmer for 8 to 10 hours.
12) Add the lemon slices during last 1 hour of cooking.

SERVING
13) Serve hot with boiled potatoes if desired
