Ingredients

 
Ghee-3 tablespoons
 
Green cardamom seeds -1 teaspoon
 
Cloves-6
 
Basmati rice-2 cups, pre-soaked
 
Water-1 1/4 cups
 
Sugar-1/3 cup
 
Mixed nuts and dry fruits (almonds, cashews, pistachios & sultanas)- 1 cup, chopped
 
Saffron strands-1 teaspoon

Directions

MAKING
1)In a pan, heat the ghee, add cardamom and cloves and cook for 30 seconds. Then, add rice and stir. Let it cook on medium heat for 5 minutes.
2)Add water and bring to a boil and cook for 10 minutes until water is soaked by rice.
3)Now, add sugar and nuts and give a good stir.
4)Decrease heat and cover the pan. Cook until rice is tender and there is not moisture.

SERVING
5)Garnish the rice with saffron and serve hot.
