Zambonies Recipe

In my opinion to call yourself a chef one must have personal recipe of zambonies, just like I do. This zambonies is always a hit as a dessert . When it comes to cooking I am my worst critic. Kindly comment and let me know how good or bad this zambonies is.

Ingredients

 
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine
 
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
 
1 egg
 
1 teaspoon vanilla
 
1 1/4 cups unbleached flour
 
2 tablespoons soya flour
 
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
 
1/2 teaspoon salt
 
1/2 cup raisins
 
1/3 cup sliced blanched almonds

Directions

1. Beat butter or margarine in a large bowl with an electric mixer at high speed; gradually add sugar and continue beating until well blended. Beat in egg and vanilla.
2. Sift flour, soya flour, baking soda and salt into mixture; mix well. Stir in raisins and almonds. Drop by tea-spoonfuls, 2 inches apart, onto cookie sheets.
3. Bake in moderate oven (350°) 8 minutes, or until cookies are lightly browned. Remove from cookie sheets with spatula. Cool on wire racks. Store in metal tin with tight lid.
