Yorkshire Pudding Recipe
This yorkshire pudding recipe is a very simple pudding. Made with flour and milk, it is combined with eggs for more body to it. Seasoned and baked in the oven, the yorkshire pudding is often served with steaks.
Ingredients
1 1/2 tablespoons unsalted margarine, softened
1/2 cup skim milk
1 large egg
1/2 cup sifted all purpose flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
Directions
Preheat the oven to 500F.
Grease an 8"x 8"x 2" baking pan with 1/2 tablespoon of the margarine and place the pan in the oven while you prepare the pudding batter.
In a medium size bowl, combine the milk, egg, flour, and salt.
Using an electric mixer, beat the batter at high speed for 1 minute or until smooth.
In a small saucepan, melt the remaining tablespoon of margarine over moderate heat; add it to the batter and beat 30 seconds longer.
Pour the batter into the heated baking pan and bake, uncovered, for 20 minutes or until golden and firm (do not open the oven door during the baking period).
Cut into 4 squares and serve immediately.
