Yorkshire Parkin Recipe
Ingredients
| Flour | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Baking soda | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Allspice | 3 Tablespoon | |
| Oatmeal | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1 cup brown sugar, packed | ||
| Butter | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Light corn syrup | 5 Tablespoon | |
| Milk | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Directions
Sift flour, salt, soda, and spice.
Mix with oatmeal and sugar.
Melt butter with syrup and add to dry ingredients, along with milk.
Spread into an 8-inch square pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 50 minutes.
Heavy cake bars (squares) arc the result.
Can be iced or topped with hard sauce, or whipped cream.
