Chicken In Yogurt Curry Recipe
Ingredients
| Vegetable oil | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 2 medium-size onions, peeled and chopped | ||
| 4 dried whole red chiles | ||
| Cloves | 12 | |
| 5 1/2 pounds chicken drumsticks and thighs | ||
| Root ginger | 1 Inch, peeled | |
| Plain yoghurt | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Ground black pepper | 1 Tablespoon | |
Directions
Heat the oil in a large heavy-based frying pan or saucepan over medium heat.
When hot, add the onions, chiles, and cloves, and cook, stirring frequently, until the onions brown.
Add the chicken and ginger and stir continually until the meat is seared on all sides.
Mix the yogurt and 1 cup water together and add them to the pan with salt and pepper.
Cover and cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, for 1 hour.
Serve with Savory Onion Rice and Dressed Green Salad.
