Ingredients

 1.2 l / 2 pt / 5 cups milk
 2 tbsp plain commercial yoghurt

Directions

In a saucepan, bring milk just to a boil.
Remove from heat, and set aside to cool until lukewarm.
In a cup, mix commercial yoghurt with a few spoonfuls of the warm milk, until a smooth paste is formed.
Add this to the milk and stir until thoroughly mixed.
The simplest and perhaps most effective way of making yoghurt is to use a wide-mouthed thermos flask.
Warm flask first by rinsing with warm water, then pour in the lukewarm milk mixture and screw lid on immediately.
Leave for about 5 hr., or until mixture sets.
Serve chilled.
