| 1 small onion, chopped fine | ||
| Butter | 5 Tablespoon | |
| Rice | 1 Cup (16 tbs), uncooked | |
| Turmeric | 3 Tablespoon | |
| Salt | To Taste | |

Directions
MAKING
1. In a frying pan, melt butter and saute onions in it till golden
2. Add rice, stir to combine and make sure it is well covered in butter
3. Add one and half cup of hot water and the seasonings and allow to boil
4. Cover and simmer on a low flame for twenty minutes; turn the heat off and allow to stand with the lid on for ten minutes
5. Add cooked peas if desired
SERVING
6. Serve as appropriate
