Yeast Raised Corn Bread Recipe
Ingredients
| 2 cups compressed yeast, or 2 tablespoons dry active yeast | ||
| 1 cup milk, heated to lukewarm | ||
| 2 eggs, lightly beaten | ||
| Vegetable oil | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Honey | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Yellow cornmeal | 1 | |
| Whole wheat flour | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| 3 tablespoons brewer's yeast | ||
Directions
1. Soften the compressed or dry active yeast in the milk. Blend in the remaining ingredients. Turn into a buttered 8-inch-square pan. Cover and set in a warm place to rise until almost doubled, about 30 minutes.
2. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
