Yam Soup Recipe
Ingredients
1 pound yams or sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced
1/2 cup sliced onions
3 cups water
3 tablespoons butter
3 cups milk
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Directions
Cook the yams and onions in the water for 20 minutes.
Force the undrained mixture through a sieve or puree in an electric blender.
Return to the saucepan and stir in the butter, milk, salt, and pepper.
Heat and serve.
