6 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 1/2 cups chopped onion (about 2 medium)
2 cups sliced apples (about 2 medium)
2 cans (16 oz. ea.) sauerkraut, drained and rinsed
1/2 cup beef broth
1/4 teaspoon caraway seeds
1/4 teaspoon pepper
6 knockwurst sausages
Directions
In 12x8-inch dish, combine butter and onion.
Cook at HIGH 3 to 3 1/2 minutes.
Stir in apples.
Cook at HIGH 3 to 4 1/2 minutes.
Stir in sauerkraut, broth, caraway and pepper.
Score knockwurst diagonally and arrange on sauerkraut mixture.
Cook at HIGH 8 to 9 minutes.
Rearrange knockwurst once.
Let stand, covered, 5 minutes.
Cook at HIGH 3 to 3 1/2 minutes.
Stir in apples.
Cook at HIGH 3 to 4 1/2 minutes.
Stir in sauerkraut, broth, caraway and pepper.
Score knockwurst diagonally and arrange on sauerkraut mixture.
Cook at HIGH 8 to 9 minutes.
Rearrange knockwurst once.
Let stand, covered, 5 minutes.
