Wilted Lettuce Recipe
Ingredients
1 head lettuce
4 slices bacon
1/2 c. water
1/4 c. cider vinegar
2 tbsp. sugar
1/8 tsp. Salt
Directions
Wash and tear lettuce into pieces; set aside.
Cut bacon into 1 inch pieces; fry very slowly until crisp.
Drain on absorbent paper.
Stir remaining ingredients into 1/4 cup bacon fat.
Heat mixture to boiling; stir in bacon pieces.
Immediately pour over lettuce; toss lightly.
Garnish with slices of hard cooked eggs and a dash of paprika.
