Wild Strawberry Shortcake Recipe
Ingredients
| Flour | 2 Cup(16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Baking powder | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Margarine | 1/2 Cup(16 tbs) | |
| Egg | 1 , beaten | |
| Light cream | 2/3 Cup(16 tbs) | |
| 4 cups wild strawberries | ||
| Granulated Sugar | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Whipped cream | 2 Cup(16 tbs) | |
Directions
Sift together first 4 ingredients.
Cut in butter.
Add egg and cream.
Stir until moistened.
Turn dough onto lightly floured board.
Knead gently 1 minute, roll out dough then cut into rounds with biscuit cutter.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet 450°F.10 minutes.
Split while warm and fill with berries which have been mixed with 2 Tbsp.sugar.
Top with whipped cream.
