Whole Wheat Waffles Recipe

1 cake or 1 tablespoon dried yeast
 
2 tablespoons oil
 
1/4 teaspoon salt
 
1 cup lukewarm milk
 
2 cups whole wheat flour, sifted
 
4 eggs, beaten

Directions

Soften yeast in milk.
Combine eggs with oil and salt, and then with yeast mixture.
Stir in flour and blend well.
Cover bowl.
Let rise in warm-place for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
Bake in hot, oiled waffle iron.
This unsweetened waffle may be used as base for meat, fish, fowl, cheese, egg or vegetable dishes.
Sweeten, if desired, by adding 1/4 cup of honey to batter, and use as base for fruit, pudding, ice cream.
