Whole Wheat Fruit Tart Filling Recipe
My love for Wholewheat Fruit Tart Filling developed during high school days. You don't have to be a gourmet to judge how mouth-watering and tasty this dish really is.
Ingredients
1/2 cup raisins, chopped
1/2 cup dried currants
1/4 cup figs, cut fine
2 tablespoons water
2 teaspoons whole wheat flour
1 tablespoon oil
1/2 cup nuts, chopped
1/2 cup unsweetened orange juice
Directions
Cook fruits and water together over low heat for 20 minutes.
Blend in flour and cook 10 minutes longer.
Remove from heat.
Stir in oil, nuts and orange juice.
When cool, spoon into tarts made from favorite pastry and bake at 450° F. for 15 minutes.
