Whole-Wheat Mix Recipe
whole wheat mix is a healthy and filling mix recipe that can be used for muffins or cakes and even cupcakes. With wheat germ, wheat flour and non fat milk, this is a ready to be used mix that you can prepare and put away for an anytime baking need.
Ingredients
| 4 cups whole-wheat flour 1L | ||
| All purpose flour | 4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 11/2 cups non-fat dry milk 375 mL | ||
| Granulated Sugar | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Wheat germ | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 4 tbsp double-acting baking powder 50 mL | ||
| Salt | 1 Tablespoon | |
| 11/2 cups solid vegetable shortening 375 mL | ||
Directions
In a large bowl, combine whole-wheat flour, all-purpose flour, milk, sugar, wheat germ, baking powder and salt.
With a pastry blender or 2 knives, cut in shortening until mixture is crumbly.
Store mix in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.
Makes about 14 cups (3.5 L).
