Whole Wheat Rice Pastry Recipe

Ingredients
1 cup whole wheat pastry flour
1 cup brown rice flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons wheat germ
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup plus
1 tablespoon cold milk
Directions
1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
2. Sift the flour before it is measured and discard or reserve any solids (bran husks) left in sieve to enrich another dish.
3. Place the whole wheat flour, rice flour, salt, and wheat germ in a bowl. Stir in the oil and milk to make a dough.
4. Roll out the dough between pieces of wax paper to a 10-inch round. Remove the top piece of paper. Turn the pastry side down into a 9-inch pie plate. Remove the second piece of wax paper and fit the pastry gently into the pan. Trim the edges and decorate. Bake for 20 minutes, or until set and lightly browned.
