Whole Wheat Irish Soda Bread Recipe

|All purpose flour||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Granulated sugar||2 Tablespoon|

|Corn oil margarine||2 Tablespoon|
|Buttermilk/1 3/4 cup 1% low-fat milk plus 2 tablespoons vinegar||1 3⁄4 Cup (28 tbs)|

Grease a baking sheet.
In a large bowl combine whole wheat and all-purpose flours, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt; mix well.
With a pastry blender, cut in margarine until crumbly.
Add buttermilk; mix well.
Dough will be soft.
Dust a board lightly with flour; onto the floured surface turn dough.
Knead 10 times or until smooth; shape into ball.
Onto the prepared baking sheet place dough ball; flatten to 2 1/2-inch thickness.
Cut a large cross about 1/4 inch deep in top.
Bake for 1 hour or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
