Original Whole Wheat Bread Recipe
Ingredients
| Cake yeast | 1/2 | |
| Warm water | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Scant teaspoon sugar | ||
| Whole wheat flour | 1 1/8 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| White flour | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 11/2 Teaspoon | |
| Lard | 1 Tablespoon, melted | |
| Water | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Molasses | 1 Tablespoon | |
Directions
Dissolve yeast in warm water.
Add sugar.
Mix whole wheat and white flour, salt and lard.
Stir in water, yeast and molasses.
Let rise 1 1/2 hours to double.
Put in greased and floured pan about 1 hour to rise again.
Bake 45 minutes at 350°.
