White Sauce 2 Recipe
Who says all healthy dishes are boring? Try this Low Fat recipe of White Sauce 2 and you'll know. There is not a single month when I don't serve this yummy Main Dish! Ingredients
2 tablespoons unbleached all-purpose flour
3/4 cup skim milk
1/4 cup nonfat chicken broth
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon salt
Pinch of white pepper
Pinch of paprika
Directions
Place flour and milk in a saucepan.
Stir flour into milk until well blended into a smooth paste.
Place saucepan over low heat.
Add chicken broth, lemon juice, salt, white pepper, and paprika.
Stir constantly until sauce has thickened.
Variations : Add 1/2 teaspoon curry powder. Increase flour to 4 tablespoons.
Increase milk to 1 1/2 cups.
Increase chicken broth to 1/2 cup.
Add 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard and delete paprika.
Add 1/2 cup chopped mushrooms in Step 2.
