Wheat Muffins Recipe
These plain wheat muffins are baked simply with molasses and wheat flour. The milk in the recipe really makes this muffin nice and moist when served fresh from the oven.
Ingredients
| All purpose flour | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1 cup unsifted whole-wheat flour 250 mL | ||
| Baking powder | 2 Teaspoon | |
| L tsp salt 5mL | ||
| 1 egg, slightly beaten | ||
| Molasses | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Milk | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1/4 cup butter or margarine,melted 50 ml | ||
Directions
In a large bowl, combine all-purpose flour, whole-wheat flour, baking powder and salt.
Make a well in the center.
In another bowl, combine egg, molasses, milk and butter.
Add to flour mixture, stirring just until blended.
Do not overmix.
Spoon batter into prepared muffin tin, filling cups three-quarters full.
Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
