1/4 cup sugar, honey, or molasses
2 tablespoons butter, margarine, or shortening
1 egg, well beaten
1 cup cooked whole wheat
3/4 cup milk
1 cup flour (white, whole wheat, or combination)
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Directions
Combine sugar and butter; add egg and mix well. Whirl cooked whole wheat and milk in blender until smooth. Add to sugar-butter mixture. Combine dry ingredients; stir into wheat mixture. Fill greased muffin tins two-thirds full. Bake 25 to 30 minutes. Variations: Add 1/2 cup nuts, or 1 cup dried fruit, chopped, or 1/2 cup whole cooked wheat.
