Wheat Softies Recipe

Ingredients
1 env. unflavored gelatin
1/3 cup water
1/2 cup chocolate chips
3 cup small shredded wheat biscuits
Directions
In a saucepan, sprinkle gelatin over the water; stir to blend.
Allow to soften for 3 minutes.
Place over heat and bring to the boil and stir until gelatin is completely dissolved.
Remove from heat and stir in the chocolate chips, mixing to dissolve the chips.
Cool to a consistency of thick syrup.
Crumble the shredded wheat biscuits into a bowl.
Add the chocolate mixture, stirring until the cereal is thoroughly coated.
Transfer to a plastic-lined 8 in. (20 cm) square pan and smooth the mixture in the pan.
Refrigerate until thoroughly set.
Remove plastic liner with the mixture to a cutting board.
Cut into eight 2 x 4 in. (5 x 10 cm) bars or sixteen 2 x 2 in. (5x5 cm) squares.
