West Indian Punch Recipe
Ingredients
| Pint lemon juice | ||
| Pint sugar syrup | ||
| Sugar | 1 Pound | |
| 1 1/2 gills | ||
| Rum | 1 1/4 Pint | |
| 2 pints water, extra grated nutmeg | ||
| Angostura bitters | ||
Directions
Make syrup; combine water and sugar in saucepan.
Bring to boil, stir to dissolve sugar; cool.
Mix all ingredients together lightly.
Add a few drops of angostura bitters to give a light pink tint.
Refrigerate until well chilled.
Put a spoonful of crushed ice in each glass, pour in punch.
Top each glass with grated nutmeg.
A maraschino cherry can be added.
