1 If using fresh wax or green beans, remove the ends and strings.
2 In a 1 1/2-quart casserole cook fresh beans, onion, and 14 cups water, covered, on 100% power (high) for 13 to 15 minutes or till crisp-tender.
3 If using frozen beans, cook beans and onion according to the bean package microwave directions.Let beans stand, covered, while preparing tomato mixture.
4 In a 1-quart casserole,place the bacon and cover with white paper towels.Cook on high for 2 to 4 minutes or till the bacon is crisp-cooked, stirring once.Drain the bacon.
5 Stir the tomato, basil, salt, and pepper into the bacon.Drain the beans.
6 In a serving dish,place the beans and arrange the tomato mixture on the beans.Cook, covered, on high for about 30 seconds or till heated through.
7 Serve immediately.
