1 cup chopped onion
 
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
 
1/2 cup sliced celery
 
1 cup butter
 
8 cups bread cubes, toasted
 
2 cups sliced water chestnuts
 
1 tablespoon soy
 
1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger or candied ginger (rinsed first of the sugar)

Directions

Saute onion, green pepper, and celery in butter until limp.
Combine with the bread cubes, water chestnuts, soy, and ginger; toss lightly.
If the mixture is very dry, add a little hot water to moisten slightly.
