Walnut Chicken Recipe
Ingredients
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon dry sherry
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1 pound boneless chicken breasts, cut into 1 inch pieces
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/3 cup sliced green onion
1 garlic clove, cut in half
1 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped
Directions
Combine 3 tablespoons of the soy sauce, sherry and ginger in a medium size bowl; add chicken pieces; let stand for 15 minutes.
Meanwhile, heat wok or large skillet; add 2 tablespoons of the oil; heat until smoking; add green onion, garlic and walnuts.
Cook for 3 minutes, tossing mixture with slotted spoon; discard garlic.
Spoon walnut onion mixture into a small bowl; reserve.
Add remaining oil to wok; heat; add chicken pieces and soy mixture.
Stir fry until chicken is done and soy mixture begins to coat chicken, for about 5 minutes.
Add reserved walnut mixture and stir to mix.
Serve with hot boiled rice, if you wish.
