Walnut Oat Crisps Recipe
Ingredients
| Walnuts | 1 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Butter | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Brown sugar - 1 cup, packed | ||
| Egg | 1 | |
| Orange peel | 1 1/2 Teaspoon, grated | |
| Whole wheat flour | 2/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Soda | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Cinnamon | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Quick cooking oats | 1 1/3 Cup (16 tbs), uncooked | |
Directions
GETTING READY
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Roughly chop walnuts and keep aside.
3. In a medium bowl, mix together whole wheat flour, salt, soda and cinnamon.
4. Lightly grease cookie sheet with cooking spray.
MAKING
5. In a large bowl, cream together butter, sugar, egg and orange peel.
6. Add flour mixture to butter mixture; stir until well blended.
7. Add oats and 3/4 cup walnuts; stir until combined.
8. Shape the mixture into small 1 inch balls
FINALISING
9. On the prepared cookie sheets, place the balls and bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes.
10. Remove over wire rack and let cool.
SERVING
11. Serve warm Walnut Oat Crisps as a healthy snack.
