Walnut Cookies Recipe
Ingredients
| Walnuts, grated, 4 to 6 tablespoons | ||
| Butter/Margarine | 8 Tablespoon | |
| Powdered sugar | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Golden syrup | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Vanilla, a few drops | ||
| Flour | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Baking powder | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Instant coffee powder or cocoa, 1 tablespoon | ||
Directions
Cream together margarine, sugar and syrup in a bowl.
Sift together flour, coffee powder and baking powder.
Add walnuts.
Combine sugar and flour mixtures and make a stiff dough.
Use a little milk if necessary.
Divide into two portions.
Roll out each portion 1/8 inch thick between two polythene sheets.
Cut with 1 to 1 1/2 inch diameter biscuit cutter.
Arrange cookies on a greased baking sheet and chill for some time, if possible.
Bake in a moderate oven (195°C) for 15 to 20 minutes.
Let it cool for 10 minutes after removing from the oven.
Remove cookies with a spatula.
