Waldorf Crown Salad Recipe

2-85 g pkgs. strawberry jelly powder 2-85 g pkgs.
 
2 c. boiling water 500 mL
 
1 1/2 c. cold water 375 mL
 
1 c. diced apple 250 mL
 
1/2 c. thinly sliced celery 125 mL
 
1/4 c. chopped walnuts 50 mL
 
Lettuce
 
1 1/2 c. mini marshmallows 375 mL
 
1 c. sour cream 250 mL
 
1/2 c. Miracle Whip 125 mL

Directions

Dissolve the two packages of gelatin in the boiling water.
When fully dissolved, stir in the cold water.
Refrigerate until slightly set — about the consistency of unbeaten egg whites.
Remove from the refrigerator and fold in the diced apple, sliced celery and chopped nuts.
Pour into a 6 c. (1.5 L) decorative ring mold.
Refrigerate again for several hours or overnight until firm.
Arrange washed lettuce leaves attractively on a platter.
Unmold the gelatin mold in the centre.
Mix together the marshmallows, sour cream and Miracle Whip until fluffy.
Pile into the centre of the mold.
Serve at once, garnished with apple slices and walnut halves. (If you wish, the mold may be put on the lettuce and the dressing made ahead of time and refrigerated. Place the dressing in the mold prior to serving.)
