Waldorf Salad With Dates Recipe
Ingredients
| 5 cooking apples | ||
| Celery stick | 4 | |
| Lemon juice | 3 Tablespoon | |
| Sherry | 3 Tablespoon | |
| Chopped walnuts to garnish | ||
| Pitted dates | 1/4 Pound | |
| Shelled walnuts | 1/4 Pound | |
| Mayonnaise | 4 Ounce | |
| Sour cream | 4 Ounce | |
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Pepper | To Taste | |
Directions
Peel and core 5 cooking apples.
Quarter the apples and cut into thin slices lengthwise.
Marinate in 3 tablespoons lemon juice and 3 tablespoons sherry.
Cut 4 sticks of celery crosswise in thin slices.
Cut 1/4 lb. dates into shreds.
Break 1/4 lb. shelled walnuts into small pieces.
Salt and pepper slightly.
Mix with the apples.
Combine 4 oz. mayonnaise with 4 oz. sour cream.
Pour over the apples.
Mix well.
Serve in a glass bowl with a few chopped walnuts sprinkled on top.
