1/4 cup chopped Macadamia nuts, divided

Pineapple Filling

Ground cloves, for sprinkling

Powdered carob, for sprinkling

Directions

Preheat oven to 400°F.
Roll out pastry or piecrust into an 8 X 10-inch rectangle.
Cut into 6 circles, 3 1/2 to 4 inches in diameter (I use a large mug for cutting), rerolling scraps to make last circle.
Use an upside-down, 6-cup muffin tin to bake nests.
Lay a circle of pastry over each cup, pressing to fit and secure it.
Bake on top shelf of oven for 15 minutes, or until golden.
As soon as they can be handled, remove nests and cool completely, right side up, on wire racks.
