Wafer Paste Recipe
I love this Wafer Paste recipe for it brings really positive comments every single time I cook it. I prefer to make Wafer Paste as a Side Dish for all my family get-togethers. You must try this recipe.
Ingredients
1/4 cup butter
3/4 cup icing sugar
4 egg whites
3/4 cup all purpose flour
1/2 tsp almond extract
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 °F (190 °C).
Butter cookie sheets.
Set aside.
In a saucepan, melt butter.
Let cool until lukewarm.
In a bowl, whisk remaining ingredients.
Fold in lukewarm butter, mixing until smooth.
On a cookie sheet, ladle 3 tbsp (45 ml) paste to form a wafer around 5 inches (12.5 cm) in diameter.
Allow 2 wafers per cookie sheet.
Bake in oven 12-15 minutes.
Remove from oven.
With a spatula, lift wafers.
Lay over a rolling pin so they will cool into a rounded shape, or shape into tulips, cones or cigars.
