Viennese Sauerkraut Recipe
Ingredients
| Onion | 1 Medium, chopped | |
| Bacon or Pork fat- 2 tablespoons | ||
| Sauerkraut- 2 cups (one 1-pound can) | ||
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Caraway seeds | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| White wine | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Potato | 1 Medium, peeled | |
Directions
MAKING
1) In the saucepan, heat fat and sauté the onion for 5 minutes or until tender.
2) Stir in, bacon or pork, sauerkraut, salt caraway and white wine.
3) Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
4) Add grated potato and simmer for 30 minutes longer, stirring occasionally.
SERVING
6) Serve hot in a flat plate.
