Viennese Chocolate Rolls Recipe
Ingredients
| Blanched almonds | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Cooking chocolate | 1 Cup (16 tbs), grated | |
| Egg | 1 | |
| Sugar | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Citron | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), finley diced | |
| Blanched almonds | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs), slivered | |
| Superfine granulated sugar, white or colored | ||
Directions
Combine ground almonds and chocolate.
Beat egg and sugar until fluffy.
Add to almond-chocolate mixture together with citron and slivered almonds.
Heat mixture in top part of double boiler over hot water until warm, stirring constantly until well blended.
Cool.
Lightly spread a baking board or a sheet of wax paper with sugar.
Put mixture on it and, between sugared hands, shape into a sausage about 11 inches long.
Roll in fine sugar.
Dry in cool place overnight.
To serve, cut into thin slices.
