Ingredients

 Blanched almonds2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Cooking chocolate1 Cup (16 tbs), grated
 Egg1
 Sugar1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Citron1/2 Cup (16 tbs), finley diced
 Blanched almonds1/3 Cup (16 tbs), slivered
 Superfine granulated sugar, white or colored

Directions

Combine ground almonds and chocolate.
Beat egg and sugar until fluffy.
Add to almond-chocolate mixture together with citron and slivered almonds.
Heat mixture in top part of double boiler over hot water until warm, stirring constantly until well blended.
Cool.
Lightly spread a baking board or a sheet of wax paper with sugar.
Put mixture on it and, between sugared hands, shape into a sausage about 11 inches long.
Roll in fine sugar.
Dry in cool place overnight.
To serve, cut into thin slices.
