Easy Venison Mincemeat Recipe
Ingredients
| Venison | 2 Cup (16 tbs), finely chopped | |
| 2 cups chopped peeled tart apples | ||
| Suet | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1 pound each of raisins and currants | ||
| Citron | 1/2 pound, chopped | |
| Mixed fruits | 1 Cup (16 tbs), candied | |
| 1 tablespoon each of ground cinnamon and nutmeg | ||
| Ground cloves | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Sugar | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Liquid to cover (broth, cider vinegar, or sweet cider) | ||
Directions
Mix ingredients thoroughly.
Bring to a boil; simmer for 15 minutes, stirring frequently.
Seal in scalded pint jars.
This will make about 7 pints and each pint will make 1 pie.
