Ingredients
two measures of Moong Dall
two measures of Rice
5 or 6 teaspoons of pure ghee
2 table spoons of pepper corns and half teaspoon of jeera
some karepak ( curry leaves )
a little salt
water
Directions
Take two measures of Moong Dall and two measures of Rice in a vessel and wash them thoroughly in water .. drain out the water.
Next take about 5 or 6 teaspoons of pure ghee heat it in a kadai, and fry about 2 table spoons of pepper corns and half teaspoon
of jeera..
about some karepak ( curry leaves ) then add the washed rice+dal mix and fry till the water is dried ...
Transfer the fried rice+dall mixture into a suitable vessel, add water sufficient for the rice ( four volumes for two volumes of rice )
and cook for about 5 minutes in a pressure cooker..
Remove from the cooker and after sufficiently cooled add grated coconut - dry or wet - a little salt (also fried cashew nuts
optionally ) mix thoroughly and serve .. either as it is or with some pudina chutney ..
