Ingredients

 Butter/Margarine1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 2 eggs, unbeaten
 1 7-oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate

Directions

Cream butter with back of a spoon until fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Melt chocolate in double boiler; cool slightly.
Add slowly to butter-egg mixture, while beating with spoon until smooth and creamy.
Frosts tops and sides of two 8" or 9" layers.
Vegetable shortening may replace butter by adding 1/4 teasp salt.
