Velvet Cream Recipe

This velvet cream recipe is a vanilla cream recipe made with gelatin and added cream. Chilled and molded as desired, the velvet cream can be served as such or garnished with candied fruits and nuts of choice.

Ingredients

 
Gelatin- 1/2 ounce (1 tablespoon), granulated
 
Cold water- 1/4 cup
 
Boiling water- 1/4 cup
 
Powdered sugar- 4 tablespoons
 
Cream- 1 pint
 
Vanilla- 1 teaspoon

Directions

MAKING
1.Combine gelatin with 1 cup water in large kettle; bring to a rolling boil, stirring constantly.
2.Add sugar; bring to a rolling boil, stirring constantly.
3.Boil for 1 minute.
4.Re- move from heat; skim.
5.As soon as it begins to congeal, add the cream.
6.Flavor with vanilla.
7.Turn into a mold and place on ice to harden.
SERVING
8.Use in cakes
