Vegetable Biryani Recipe
Vegetable Biryani has a great taste. The dressing of almonds gives the Vegetable Biryani supreme taste. Must catch it.
Ingredients
| 1 cup basmati rice washed and soaked for 30 minutes and drained | ||
| Oil | 1 Tablespoon | |
| 1/2 tsp. roasted cummin seeds | ||
| Onion | 1 , chopped | |
| GROUND TOGETHER INTO A PASTE | ||
| 6 red dry Goan or Kashmiri chillies | ||
| Coriander seeds | 1 Teaspoon, roasted | |
| Cloves | 4 | |
| 4 shelled cardamoms | ||
| Cinnamon | 1 Inch | |
| Peppercorns | 6 | |
| Garlic | 8 Clove (5gm) | |
| Ginger | 1 Inch | |
| Poppy seeds | 1 Teaspoon, roasted | |
| Turmeric powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Vegetables | 1 Cup (16 tbs), cubed | |
| 1/2 cup shelled greenpeas | ||
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Hot water | 21/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1 tbsp. sliced almonds or cashewnuts | ||
| Sultanas | 1 Tablespoon, fried (TO GARNISH) | |
| Fried onions | 1 Tablespoon, sliced (TO GARNISH) | |
Directions
Mix oil, cummin seeds and onion in a bowl and microwave covered for 2 minutes.
Mix in the ground ingredients cover the bowl and microwave further for 2 minutes.
Mix in the rice, cubed vegetables, greenpeas and salt.
Then pour in the hot water and microwave for 20 minutes.
Let it stand for 5 minutes, then fork to loosen up the grains of rice.
Spread out in a serving dish and garnish with almonds or cashewnuts, kismis and fried onions.
