Ingredients

 
1 1/2 pound ground beef
 
1 cup bean sprouts, coarsely chopped
 
1/4 cup chopped green pepper
 
1 small onion, chopped (about 1/4 cup)
 
1 small carrot, shredded (about 1/4 cup)
 
1 small stalk celery, chopped (about 1/4 cup)
 
1 teaspoon salt
 
1/4 teaspoon pepper
 
1 1/2 cups alfalfa sprouts
 
2 medium tomatoes, each cut into 3 slices

Directions

Mix ground beef, bean sprouts, green pepper, onion, carrot, celery, salt and pepper.
Shape beef mixture into 6 patties, each about 1/2 inch thick.
Place patties on rack in broiler pan.
Set oven control to broil and/or 550°.
Broil patties with tops about 3 inches from heat until medium doneness, 3 to 5 minutes on each side.
Top each patty with 1/4 cup alfalfa sprouts and 1 tomato slice.
