Recipe Story

Making gratin dish are one of the easiest way of cooking. If you are a beginner who would like to learn how to cook, perhaps you can start experimenting making a vegetable gratin, aside from its easy to make, it is a healthy recipe and very tasty. I made my first gratin a couple of years ago during our yearly neighborhoud BBQ party. I made 1 kilo ground beef cooked with tomato sauce and place them in between some peeled layered potatoes, poured heavy cream over potatoes and sprinkled with parmesan cheese and baked it. Since then I had experiment different kinds of “Au gratin” dishes. Here is one of my healthy vegetable gratin recipe!

Ingredients

 Cauliflower broccoli1 Medium
 1 small courgette, cut into rounds or strips
 Red bell pepper2 To taste
 Butter1/2
 Eggs4 Small
 Â½ teasponn grated nutmeg
 Cheese3 Tablespoon, grated
 Milk4 Cup (16 tbs)
 Salt To Taste
 Pepper To Taste

Directions

Cut the couliflower into florets, rinse them.
Remove the seeds from the bell pepper, wash and cut into rings.
Boil the vegetables in the lightly salted water, let it boil for 3 minutes. Drain well in a sieve.
Grease a baking dish with ½ tablespoon butter. Place the vegetable in a greased baking dish. In a mixing bowl beat the eggs together with 4 cups of milk, grated nutmeg, salt and pepper.
Pour the eggs mixture over vegetables, sprinkle with cheese and place them in the preheated oven to 200`C (400 F)
Bake the vegetables for 30 minuter or until the top are golden brown.
This dish has approximately 250 calories per serving.
