Vegan Gluten-Free French Toast Recipe Video
Ingredients
Non-dairy milk (I made hempseed milk from 1tbsp fresh hemp seeds and 1 cup water)
Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
Nutmeg - 1/4 teaspoon
Almond butter - 2 tablespoons
Flour - 3 tablespoons, gluten-free
Vanilla extract - 1/2 teaspoon
Stevia - 1/8 teaspoon (recipe calls for 1 tbsp maple syrup)
Flaxseeds - 1 tablespoon, ground
Directions
GETTING READY
1) Preheat a non-stock (non Teflon) griddle or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat.
2) Combine the batter ingredients in a bowl or blender.
MAKING
3) Dip the bread slices into the batter and let soak for a bit.
4) Place battered bread in griddle/pan - flip if necessary to prevent burning.
5) Cook until brown on both sides (about 5 minutes).
SERVING
6) Eat plain or topped with organic maple syrup (grade B is very nutritious).
7) You can use some non-dairy butter such as Earth Balance or some coconut oil if you're not oil-free.
