Veal With Ham (Saltimbocca Alla Romana) Recipe
Ingredients
2 lb (1 kg) veal steak thinly sliced
10 slices prosciutto
1 teaspoon sage
pepper
1/2 cup (125 g) butter or margarine
1/2 cup (125 ml) Marsala or dry white wine
Directions
Flatten veal.
Place slice of prosciutto on each piece of veal.
Sprinkle with sage and pepper.
Roll up the veal and secure with a toothpick.
Melt butter or margarine in a frypan and cook the veal on all sides until golden brown, about ten minutes.
Remove from pan and keep warm.
Add wine to the scraping in the frypan, heat and pour over the veal
Place slice of prosciutto on each piece of veal.
